My outrageous story about Paradigm Engineering, 1965 Lakepointe Drive in Lewisville, Texas.
Like so many other employees I witnessed at Paradigm Engineering, I was (in my opinion) taken advantage of, manipulated and exploited by this so-called Christian company. In no way am I
attempting to pass judgment on the charismatic leaders of Paradigm Engineering
. My intent is to present the facts of what they put me and other employees through
and how they repeatedly appeared to break the law over and over again. Then you can make the decision for yourself… Is what Paradigm Engineering did and is still doing to it’s
employees legal or representative of Christ or Christianity.
Back in 1978 when Jim Jones, the cult leader of the People’s Temple convinced my late grandmother and about 900 other followers to commit suicide, I thought to myself; “how could so many innocent God-fearing, God-loving, Christians be convinced to participate in something so horrific as to take their own life. Well if you think that in today’s times it’s not possible for groups of innocent people both Christians and non-Christians to be manipulated and exploited by charismatic leaders who claim to have Christian morals or a Christian foundation then read on.
I guarantee you by the time you finish reading the information on this site, you’ll be scratching you head and wondering…”wow, how could these employees be convinced to remain in a situation that is clearly not healthy for them, ripping their families apart and destroying them financially.”
This is my unbelievable but true experience of what happened to me during my employment at Paradigm Engineering in Lewisville Texas.
Paradigm’s Temple
I went to work for this “faith-based” company a little over 1 1/2 years ago. For about 10 months things there were great. We had “Daily Devotions” every morning, it was a stress-free environment, some of us had the option to work remotely from home, I was pulling down a great salary and I worked with a great bunch of people. All of this was about to become so irrelevant for what I and a number of other employees were about to be put through at the hands of Paradigm. Around June of 2007 (about 10 months after I started working for Paradigm) things began to turn sour. Paradigm’s leaders communicated to us that the company was undergoing some small financial struggles. They assured us everything would be ok in a short period of time but paychecks would have to be delayed about a week. Little did we know that this was the beginning of a series of apparent illegal and questionable actions imposed upon us by Paradigm Engineering. That 1 week delay in pay checks turned into 2 weeks. Then 2 weeks turned into 3 weeks. Finally, 3 weeks turned into 4 weeks and 4 weeks turned into 5 weeks. These weeks of not paying us were in direct violation of the Texas Labor Codes. Paradigm Engineering was apparently breaking the law repeatedly and they had to know it.
During the period while we were not being paid we were constantly told by the leaders how important it was to “keep the faith”, to “keep putting forth a 100% effort”, to “keep a Servant’s Heart” and “hold on” because “Things were looking up” and we could expect pay checks soon. They kept telling us financial relief was on the way. They so eloquently kept feeding us this nonsense for about 7 or 8 months but that financial help never arrived.
For most of us the normal method of payment was direct deposit. However, Paradigm always gave us the option of picking up a paper check from them if we wanted to. We knew better than that because a few employees took paper checks when times were so desperate they needed something. The majority if not all of those paper checks bounced like a rubber ball (see victim stories) and the employees (me included) were left to deal with the consequences and fees. Soon some banks would not take any more of Paradigm’s payroll checks. Even some local check cashing places would refuse to cash any payroll checks from Paradigm Engineering. Yes, this “Christian” company had on more than one ocassion passed out HOT payroll checks to it’s employees. This is a true and easily verifyable fact.
