More disturbing information about Paradigm Engineering
Here are some additional hardships Paradigm Engineering has placed on it's employees. I tell you, there is no lack of troubling information on this company. Check this page often as this is where I will post the most recent information.
Health Insurance - Since late last year, when some medical bills were incurred, there are at least one bill still pending - awaiting payment. What kind of health plan did we end up with? Did they get some sub-par knock-off insurance company that ended up costing more money and more grief? After receiving numerous payment notifications, I eventually paid one of bills, since I'm ultimately responsible for it. The other invoice is $2k+ and is still outstanding waiting payment. (-Anonymous)
Life Insurance - I believe the life insurance was discontinued or dropped all together. (-Anonymous)
401K - We all may know the story around that. The 401K company wasn't receiving the funds and we weren't getting the money and none of us knew what was going on. Until we continued to inquire, we finally got an answer near the end of the year. Payments had not been deposited into the 401K for several months. So where was the money invested since we didn't have it and the 401K company didn't have it? (-Anonymous)
Vendors - Remember how we couldn't perform some of our duties because bills weren't being paid. Remember the office being cut off? Our equipment like copiers and such weren't repaired because bills were outstanding. They owed one wireless phone company thousands of dollars and then left that company and started a new contract with another before services were discontinued. Internet Service went down a couple of times due to payment issues. Remember when they abruptly changed shipping carriers? Could this have been for non payment of bills also? (-Anonymous)
PTO (Paid Time Off) - Did the company recently engaged in a premeditated plan to abruptly modify its Paid Time Off (PTO) policy?
On or around Friday, Mar. 20, 2008, changes to the PTO policy was in effect. Was the policy made effective immediately in anticipation of terminating an estimated 30
employees the following week? By doing so, the company would not have to pay the terminated employees their earned PTO. Were they getting hammered with paying
outstanding PTO balances to previous employees that were terminated or resigned? You be the judge.
To paraphrase, the new policy indicates that PTO will no longer be paid to employees who are no longer with the company on or after Mar 20, 2008. Any employee with
PTO that is terminated or resign from the company will not be paid their PTO.
Does it remind you of how the Enron executives made certain questionable decisions behind closed doors? I believe we all have a right to receive our entire
outstanding PTO balances paid in full, based upon the manner in which Paradigm abruptly changed their PTO policy followed by lay-offs.(-Anonymous)
WFC Decision - I can tell you that I am hearing again from another current employee that
a deal was reached by the Department of Labor and Paradigm. I continue to hear that Paradigm will be "forced" to pay
minimum wage on the hours owed, and then pay the rest "when they can". Therefore, for me personally, I might be looking at about 30 cents on the dollar, with no expectation of ever
seeing the rest. I am not sure if we will ever see the money, and it seems like there is no expectation of the Department of Labor helping out. I'm still owed my
last check for 2007, 2 checks for January 2008 and 1 check for February 2008 plus an awful lot of PTO hours. That is a lot of money they have stolen from me and other
former and current employees that have made this company millions and millions of dollars over the years.
WFC Update (7/30/2008)- The Texas Workforce Commission is aggressively working to process claims against Paradigm. If you have not yet filed a wage claim, you are encouraged to get one in ASAP!
Be sure to use the words "Former Paradigm Employee" in your claim.
how do you sleep at night? How can you face your employees everyday and look them in the face knowing what you are doing to them and their families. When you're sitting
in church on Sunday morning listening to the message being delivered do you feel the presence of GOD? When you kneel before Almighty GOD in prayer what
goes through your mind? Your dispicable behavior throughout this whole ordeal says alot about your character and creditability. In the court of law you may get away
with what you are doing. You can even receive forgiveness from GOD for what you have done for GOD is a very forgiving GOD. However, rest assured forgiveness does not mean
exoneration and you will be held accountable by GOD and dealt with by GOD in his own time. For you have taken advantage of and trampled on the rights of many, many people.
Then more inportant than the money issue is the spiritual issue. Have you considered how many non-Christian people (and probably some Christians) you have prejudiced against Christianity now?
They are confused. On one hand you sit in morning devotions spread the word, pray, witness to them of GOD's goodness, mercy and grace then on the other hand you lie to them,
cheat them, and disrespect them. The whole time they are thinking to themselves, "all of this at the hands of Christians. If this is what Christianity is about then I want no part of it".
I would not trade positions with you for all the money in the world. May GOD have mercy on your soul!
The Pathetic $234.00 Check! - I'm sure that by now those that are owed money by Paradigm have received the pathetic letter and $234.00 check
from Steve Johnson Paradigm's CFO. Here is how the lettr reads...
This letter accompanies a progress payment for outstanding wages owed to you by Paradigm Engineering. The enclosed payment recognizes that the company is working toward
the goal of catching up on individual unpaid 2008 wages.
The first objective is to ensure compliance with federal minimum wage requirements for unpaid pay periods in accordance with the findings of a recently completed review by the
Unites States Department of Labor. Please accept this progress payment as a good faith effort toward this importand goal.
Paradigm Engineering appreciates your patience and apologizes for the difficulty caused by your unpaid wages. Please email me at (his email address) if you have any
questions, concerns, or comments. Thank You.
Respectfully,
Steve Johnson
CFO
It appears to me that this ridiculous letter and check from Steve Johnson is evidence that Paradigm has no intentions of doing the right thing and it doesn't seem
like we will get any help from the DOL. Before you cash that "bait" check read this important warning!
